The ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) qualification provides you with a sound base on which to build a career in finance or related areas. As an ACCA trainee, you will develop a wide range of skills, giving you an in-depth knowledge of accounting principles, management techniques and IT, enabling you to work in any area of finance and creating a world of opportunities for your future. The ACCA also offers a truly global qualification in that students can choose, in some papers, to be examined using international accounting and auditing standards. There are also Malaysian variant papers in tax and law. This means that your ACCA qualification is truly portable, enabling you to live and work in many countries around the world.

Course Duration

ACCA’s flexible course structure has set seven years to pass the exams at Strategic Professional level. The time limits starts when you pass your first Strategic Professional level exam.

There are no time limits for passing the Applied Knowledge and Skills level

Exemptions

A maximum of nine exams at the Fundamentals level of the ACCA Qualification can be awarded. However no exemptions are awarded for the Strategic Professional Level

  • Exemptions can only be awarded on the basis of qualifications awarded by recognised institutions (i.e. those which are recognised by the local Ministry of Education as public sector institutions or the equivalent status under their regulations). If your qualification is not listed on the exemption enquiry database, please send your documentation to ACCA Connect, for further review.
  • Students will be required to pay an exemption fee for each paper awarded. Exemption fees are the same as examination fees.
  • Any documentation which is not in English must be officially translated before submission.

Assesment

100% of final examination which are held four (4) times in a year in March, June, September and December.

Award

By ACCA, UK. On successful completion of the ACCA professional examination with relevant working experience will enable graduates to become Chartered Certified Accountants, use the designatory letters ACCA.

Ethics and Professional Skills Module

ACCA student needs complete the Professional Ethics Module before qualifying. This is an online module focuses on developing the complete range of vital skills employers now seek whilst retaining a focus on being an ethical accountant.

Professional ethics is the heart of the ACCA qualification. It is covered in 11 out of 15 exams including all the professional papers. There are no strict rules on when you have to take the Ethics and Professional Skills module, but you must complete it before applying for ACCA membership.

We normally would recommend you take the Professional Ethics Module at the same time as you study Strategic Professional level – Essentials, or before.

Our published entry requirements are a guide only and ACCA decision will be based on your overall suitability for the course as well as whether you meet the minimum entry requirements.

  • A pass in STPM or its equivalent, with a minimum Grade C+ (GP 2.33) in any two subjects, and credits in Mathematics and a pass in English at SPM level; OR
  • A diploma in accounting or related field, or its equivalent, with a minimum CGPA of 2.50, and credits in Mathematics, and a pass in English at SPM level; OR
  • Matriculation/ Foundation qualification or its equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.50, and credits in Mathematics and a pass in English at SPM level; OR
  • Unified Examination Certificate (UEC), 5 subjects with grade B including English and Mathematics; OR
  • 2 passes at GCE A-Level/ Cambridge Overseas Higher School Certificate (grades A-E or 9-4) plus 3 passes at GCE O-Level/ Cambridge Overseas Higher School Certificate (grades A-C or 1-6) in 5 separate subjects including Mathematics and English; OR
  • Any other qualification recognise by Malaysia Government.

Successful completion of the ACCA professional examination with relevant working experience will enable graduates to become Chartered Certified Accountants, use the designatory letters ACCA, and work in any aspect of finance and business, often in senior management positions. Graduates can work as auditors, tax consultants and accountants.
